Leonardo da Vinci - “The Annunciation”, c. 1472-1475
Art reproduction on canvas in the „Janine“ frame
In this version, Leonardo da Vinci’s „The Annunciation“ appears as a sweeping scene of quiet solemnity. The original, created around 1472-1475 and now housed in the Uffizi in Florence, depicts the moment when the angel Gabriel delivers the message to Mary. In this work, Leonardo, one of the most significant artists of the Renaissance, combines a clear spatial order with a keen observation of nature. Architecture, garden landscape and figures come into a calm balance, whilst gestures and lines of sight subtly carry the narrative.
The reproduction measures 80 × 35 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin finish faithfully reproduces the subtle transitions, the light landscape and the linear clarity of the composition. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern at the sides, giving the edges of the picture a seamless appearance.
The work is framed by the classic ‘Janine’ decorative frame in gold with a distressed finish. Measuring 36 mm in width and 30 mm in height, the frame complements the historical feel of the painting in a warm and understated manner. A hook-and-eye hanging system discreetly completes the finish.
