The Donatella picture frame combines a slim, clean-lined appearance with surprising spatial depth. Its 20 mm wide and 25 mm high frame is made of solid wood. The profile is stepped in design: a finely grooved upper surface protrudes slightly, whilst a recessed section below leads to the outer, light beige edge. This stepped design creates a subtle shadow line and visually sets the picture apart from the wall without imposing a heavy border. In terms of colour, Donatella ranges from ivory to cream white and a warm light beige. The brushed surface catches light falling from the side in narrow lines, whilst dark speckles and the subtle patina enliven the light tone. As a result, the frame does not appear flawlessly smooth, but pleasantly nuanced. Its clean geometry is reminiscent of the functional gallery frames of the 20th century, where a understated border was intended primarily to set off prints, photographs and modern paintings. We particularly recommend Donatella for minimalist botanical drawings or light-filled abstract compositions. It looks its best when the artwork features off-white tones, sandy colours or scattered dark accents. We find it a lovely choice for light, calmly furnished rooms that would benefit from a touch of graphic structure.
