Painting Frames "Alisa" |
| • Serie: Opavia • Width: 15mm • Height: 45mm |
| The Alisa frame combines a narrow front profile, just 15 mm wide, with an unusually deep profile height of 45 mm. This ensures it remains unobtrusive in front of the picture whilst at the same time providing it with spatial support. The clean, rectangular shape follows in the tradition of modern box frames, which are used in particular for works on paper and minimalist gallery displays. In the case of scrolls, it gently translates the tranquil effect of traditional textile mounting into a rigid frame. The profile is made of wood with a maple veneer. Its untreated, cream-coloured surface displays a fine natural grain and softly reflects light without creating any glare. This creates a subtle transition, particularly when paired with Japanese paper, silk or warm-toned Chinese paper. Black ink lines stand out clearly, whilst open areas of paper retain their lightness. The high side panel sets the work slightly apart from the wall and lends even small formats a pleasing presence. We particularly recommend Alisa for Japanese woodblock prints with subdued colours or monochrome ink landscapes. It looks at its best when the artwork is given space to breathe with a light-coloured passe-partout or generous paper margins. We like to choose it when the framing is meant to complement the artwork rather than overwhelm it with decoration. |
