Pierre Joseph Redouté, after - “Poirier de Pollviller”
Art reproduction on canvas in the „Sinead“ frame
In this version, „Poirier de Pollviller“ as a finely detailed botanical illustration from the „Nouveau Duhamel du Monceau“, a significant publication on trees and shrubs cultivated in France. The design is based on drawings by Pierre-Joseph Redouté and Pancrace Bessa, whose botanical illustrations combined scientific accuracy with a clear, elegant composition. Branches, leaves and fruits are arranged calmly against a light background, drawing the eye to the growth habit, structure and botanical features of the pear tree.
The reproduction measures 35 × 45 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin finish faithfully reproduces the fine lines, delicate colour tones and subtle brightness of the original. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern at the sides, giving the edges of the picture a seamless appearance.
The work is framed by the “Sinead” decorative frame in a wood-effect finish with oak veneer. Measuring 15 mm in width and 30 mm in height, the frame provides a narrow, natural setting for the botanical illustration. A discreet hook-and-eye hanging system completes the design unobtrusively.
