Feynman diagrams - reproduced from a paper by Richard Feynman from 1949, one of the first publications with his well-known diagrams. The title is taken from the abstract of the paper.
The diagrams refer to the interaction of particles. They look like illustrations of colliding particles, but are in fact abbreviations for integrals.
These diagrams remind me of the time when software was neither ubiquitous nor practical and you had to get creative to understand these mathematical expressions.
Feynman was also a synaesthete - he saw mathematical equations in colours. I hope he would like my version!
