Matt (Time)

As on a surreal stage, figures and fragments of figures are grouped on the surface of this picture; centrally the picture dominates a massive, seated figure, which holds a monkey-like, lean creature with childlike proportions on its outstretched arm. Only the rear part of a standing figure can be seen. A young man in back view is half-propped up on his right arm. Everyone turns to a glow on the left edge of the picture, which could mean dawn as well as a nuclear explosion.
