Painting Frames "Susi"

• Serie: Santen • Width: 20mm • Height: 18mm
The ‘Susi’ picture frame draws its charm from the subtle interplay of muted green and antique silver. Its brushed, patinated surface features longitudinal grooves in which pale green, sage green and olive green blend into one another. Darker traces linger in the recesses, lending the frame its pleasantly worn, antique look. The wooden profile appears noticeably vibrant without becoming jarring. Measuring 20 mm in width and 18 mm in height, Susi is slender yet distinctly sculpted. The main green surface rises gently and ends at the outer edge in a softly rounded edge. Towards the picture, there is a small groove before the silver inner edge emerges. This slightly curved silver moulding catches light falling from the side and gently guides the eye towards the artwork. Thanks to its two-tone design, even a delicate subject is given a clear border. The frame follows in the tradition of narrow, contoured moulded frames, which were used in particular for drawings, prints and smaller landscape paintings. We are happy to recommend ‘Susi’ for botanical studies or atmospheric landscapes in muted natural tones. It looks at its best when its sage-green hue is echoed in the artwork or when the antique silver is allowed to take on a cool, light tone.
