Painting Frames "Reinhilde"

• Serie: Valence • Width: 30mm • Height: 24mm
The Reinhilde picture frame derives its charm from the subtle interplay between cool grey-blue and understated antique silver. Its multi-layered wooden profile is 30 mm wide and 24 mm high. The wide outer surface remains almost flat, yet slopes gently towards the picture. This is followed by a narrow, concave groove that merges into the silver inner edge. This creates a clear visual flow: the darker outer area frames the composition, whilst the silver creates a subtle halo of light directly around the picture. This structure is reminiscent of the principle behind historical coffered frames, in which a calm surface was bordered by moulded edges. In its minimalist design, Reinhilde is also akin to the more functional gallery and interior frames of the early 20th century. Such profiles gave the picture space whilst still ensuring a clear separation from the wall. The brushed, patinated surface does not reflect light evenly. Light streaks and darker areas alternate depending on the viewing angle, giving the frame its authentic vintage look. We particularly recommend Reinhilde for atmospheric coastal landscapes or understated portraits. It looks its best when the picture features cool blues, greys or muted natural tones.
