The 'Salvador' canvas is a high-quality medium, ideal for serene and elegant motifs. Made entirely of cotton, it features an elegant fabric texture created by a dense cross-rib weave. This distinctive ribbed structure remains visible even after the motif is printed. As a natural fiber product, the canvas surface has a characteristic natural unevenness, much like what you'd find in the works of great artists. With a substantial weight of nearly 400 g/m², 'Salvador' stands for premium quality. A one-sided coating optimizes the canvas for printing without compromising its flexibility for perfect stretching.

Its matte surface gives motifs a natural, warm feel. Colors stay remarkably true to the original, helped by the canvas's natural white tone. 'Salvador' is particularly well suited for motifs with predominantly light or transparent colors – the kind of shades used by Romantics like Caspar David Friedrich or notable British watercolor painters. Portraits, still lifes, or exquisite botanical paintings harmonize perfectly with 'Salvador's' natural texture, enabling truly authentic reproduction. While light-filled scenes and high-quality graphics are reproduced beautifully, the rich paintings of Old Masters may lose some of their brilliance on the matte surface – these would be better served by glossier substrates.

The premium coating ensures precise color application. The consistently matte surface prevents reflections, making it ideal for well-lit interiors or spots near windows. Although the coated cotton stretches beautifully onto a stretcher frame, minimal surface cracking may occur at the edges due to the natural material. For this reason, we advise against very dark motifs.
