| Milada brings an ornamental warmth to rooms featuring exposed concrete, steel and glass. Set against a calm, mineral-like wall, the 50 mm wide and 35 mm high wooden profile creates a distinct yet well-defined contrast. It is constructed from multiple glued-together sections. On the outer edge, it begins with a raised, smoothly finished edge, followed by a recessed groove. The wide central section features sculpted acanthus leaves, whilst a narrow inner ornamental strip frames the design precisely. This layered effect gradually draws the eye inwards and lends even smaller motifs a sense of spatial presence. The finish ranges between old gold and antique gold. Raised leaf tips warmly reflect the light, whilst dark recesses allow the relief to stand out more strongly. Sprinkled traces of patina break up the gold tone, so that the surface appears less glossy and more vibrant when set against raw concrete. The acanthus pattern follows the tradition of Baroque frames, in which dynamic leaf motifs integrated paintings and mirrors into the architecture in a representative manner. We particularly recommend Milada for Baroque portraits or dramatically lit still lifes. In contemporary interiors, the frame is shown to its best advantage when the walls, furniture and lighting are deliberately understated. Amidst a wealth of decorative materials, however, the contrast becomes softer and the frame blends in more seamlessly. |
