The Annemie model is a narrow gold frame made of solid wood, approximately 20 mm wide and 19 mm high. Its profile is structured in distinct stages: a subtly curved inner edge leads towards the picture, followed by a delicate beaded border and a flat central panel featuring regularly spaced floral rosettes. The outer edge is formed by a dense band of stylised leaf and arch motifs. This structure is reminiscent of ornamental motifs found in classical architecture, which originally gave rhythm to cornices, furniture and picture frames, and provided paintings with an orderly transition to the wall. The gold-coloured surface is not mirror-smooth. Light-coloured areas catch direct light, whilst darker recesses clearly define the rosettes and border ornamentation. As a result, Annemie retains a spatial presence despite its delicate dimensions. In rooms featuring exposed concrete and steel, the frame provides a deliberate, warm counterpoint: its golden hue and floral relief respond to cool, smooth surfaces without overloading the clean lines of the architecture. When paired with warm wood or brass, however, it blends in more harmoniously. We particularly recommend Annemie for finely detailed portraits or botanical illustrations. It looks its best when there is sufficient uncluttered wall space around the picture.
